The tenement house at NMP Avenue 6 is where Zygmut Rolat – today the ambassador, friend and patron of the city – spent a happy childhood. This is also where Joachim Chaim Weksler – a merchant, philanthropist and city councilman – lived before the War. A Hasidic house of prayer was also located there. Under German occupation, the house served as the first headquarters of the Jewish Police collaborating with the Germans.
